Nolita, Brooklyn Bridge, Highline and Carrie's apartment

These past four days in the city have been fantastic! We could not have planned a better trip to Nyc to finish the summer. My best friend Claire and I had an amazing time. Nothing two girls with a Nikon, a very long list and a sense of adventure can't do. The sun was beaming hot, we walked enough steps for a whole marathon and messed up on the subway once or twice but it was great. We tried air bnb for the first time and it could not have been nicer. We stayed in Central park north and the apartment and hosts were great. It was such a modern space and our hosts were the type of cool people from the city which I always imagine when I think of a New-yorker. They were architects graduated from Columbia university... no big deal.

American museum of natural history
Shake shack which was the best burger I've ever eaten
Upper west side farmer's market. The peaches looked so good.
Sheap's meadow
Belvedere castle in Central park
Venus statue
We finally saw Marie Antoinette's bed in the Met museum from one of my favourite books, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler!
Alice in Wonderland statue
Umpire rock in Central Park

The Manus x Machina special exhibition for the Met Gala, which I love every year. It was the nicest museum trip I have ever had and the haute couture dresses were out of this world. The amount of detail and creativity was incredible. Designers were all the big ones Christian Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Proenza Schouler, Valentino, Givenchy... I was in awe of the beautiful designs.

Day 1 in Midtown

Top of the Rock. Get the views though and it beats the Empire state building for sure! We met these lovely girls traveling from Ireland and had a nice chat. MoMa... museum of modern art. Andy Warhol!!!! I finally got to see his work like Marilyn and the Campbell soup painting. I was very happy. Not to mention we got to see the real Starry Night by Van Gogh and it was amazing. There was a lot of weird art going on but I loved watching different people watch art.
Claire and I pretty much already mastered the art of riding the subway here. Don't be an idiot and wear flip flops. Don't do it. Wear your best comfortable sneakers. I think the best way to see and explore anywhere is to walk everywhere. We went to visit Radio city music hall. Where are you Howie, Heidi, Mel b and Simon? We walked up and down 5th avenue and all the high end shops. Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton. This was seriously "window shopping". We ended the day in Central park which is one of our favourites. It's the best to just lounge and relax on the big rocks right in the middle of all the trees. Momofuku milk bar ice cream stop was necessary. It's not overrated guys it's good. Also p.s the cups have handles.
